Halloween Mindfulness- Mummy Breath!

Another fun Halloween mindfulness  exercise for kids- Mummy Breath!

Making deep breathing fun and combining it with Halloween can help kids practice their breath and use breathing as a way to cope or calm down.

That is where this Mummy  breath comes in.

The deep breathing Mummy printable uses a simple picture of a Mummy but you could use this as the beginning of a Halloween Activity and make it a game. Have students wrap each other in toilet paper rolls or streamers dressing up like mummies, and then use the printable as a guide, taking a deep breath in and moaning like a mummy! How fun does that sound?!

How to:

  1. Take a large deep breath in through your nose
  2. As you breathe out, make a loud MOANING sound like a Halloween Mummy!

Ways to Use:

  1. Use the Poster as a Printable and hang it in the classroom, therapy room or at home.
  2. Use the deep breathing exercises as a brain break during the month of October, especially as we get closer to Halloween where there is a lot of sensory overload and perhaps even anxiety during Halloween Parties or even trick-or-treating.
  3. Use toilet paper or streamers to make each other into mummies, and then breathe in and MOAN out like a Mummy. This is a great activity for a Halloween Party! See who can make the scariest mummy sounds!
