I Am SMART Meditation: A Short Meditation Script for kids.

This very simple “I am Smart Meditation” meditation script for kids is an easy way to teach kids how to develop a growth mindset, think positively about themselves and start practicing positive affirmations. Adults can practice this “I am Smart” Meditation as well and be more mindful about the things they think about themselves.

Simple meditations are a great way to practice Mindfulness. Mindfulness is a way of being present in each moment, noticing what you are experiencingwith compassion and without judgment.  You can read more about the Benefits of Mindfulness here.  

Mindfulness

The benefits of Mindfulness for Kids and the benefits for Adults are similar.Children who practice mindfulness will find it much easier to focus and actively engage in the classroom. Practicing mindfulness  and breathing exercises can be very powerful for kids as they grow and navigate the world we live in. Students in the classroom who use mindfulness  will bring a sense of collective calm to the space as well making the learning environment more favorable for everyone.  Incorporating mindfulness can be fun !  

Positive affirmations

Positive affirmations are important to help boost self-esteem, increase confidence and help kids navigate challenges with a positive mindset. Affirmations are positive statements that are said to yourself to challenge negative thoughts. You can read more about positive affirmations here.

Using positive affirmations when practicing breathwork is a great way to incorporate and use breathwork and positive affirmations together. No matter what is happening around you, you have your breath to come back to. No matter what is going on in the world, at home or how busy you are, you can always come back to your breath and think positively about yourself.

Try out this easy mindfulness practice to help create positive mental imagery and thoughts about yourself. 

“I Am SMART” Meditation

This guided meditation script can be used in many ways. It can be read out to the kids in a quiet environment and changed to suit their needs at the time. Replace the “I Am SMART” with anything your students are going through and need to hear.

Here are some other positive statements you can use in place of “I am Smart”

  • I am Calm
  • I am Kind
  • I am Amazing
  • I am Beautiful
  • I am Strong
  • I am Confident
  • I am Brave
  • I will do Great Things Today
  • I am Worthy of Love
  • I am Capable of Doing Hard Things 

How to Practice “I am Smart Meditation” 

  1. Find a comfortable position. You can use a pillow or blanket on you to make you feel cozy and warm. 
  2. Gently close your eyes if it’s comfortable for you
  3. Start to breathe in and out through your mouth
  4. Listen to the soft soothing voice of someone reading this “I am Smart” Meditation Script to you. 

Ways to Use:

  1. This very simple Mindfulness Meditation script can be used to encourage a class to think positively. It encourages breathwork, meditation and calm and increases positive self-thought and behaviors. 
  2. This meditation can be used by changing the words “I AM Smart” to anything else. It could be “ I am Calm” Or “ I am Kind”, or even “I am Beautiful” 
  3. Use this “I am Smart” Meditation when the day is getting chaotic or busy and children are having difficulty with positive behaviors or positive self-talk. 
  4. Use as a part of “Quiet Time” to help calm the body and mind.
