Hot Cocoa Breathing for Kids
How to:
- Pretend you are holding a mug of hot cocoa between both of your hands.
- Bring the mug near your face and take a slow deep breath in, imagining that you are smelling the wonderful and yummy cocoa smell.
- Now slowly, take a deep breath out as you pretend to blow the Hot Cocoa to cool it down.
- Breathe in as you smell the Hot cocoa and Breathe out as you cool it down .
- Repeat until you feel calm.
Ways to Use:
- Use the Poster as a Printable and hang it in the classroom, therapy room or at home.
- Use the deep breathing exercises as a brain break during the Fall and Winter.
- Use a real mug of Hot Cocoa. Use this as a sensory, and occupation based activity. Have the kids assemble the hot cocoa with the help of an adult, and breathe is as the smell the warm hot cocoa, and breathe out as they cool it down. Make it fun by adding marshmallows or candy canes, depending on the season.
